As anticipated, here's another issue of The WineWeb newsletter just for you--
to keep you up-to-date with happenings on the site and to alert you to new wines.

Washington State Wines for Summertime

I had the opportunity to spend a week in the Lake Chelan area of Washington recently. This is a relatively new wine region in the North Central part of the state. Most of the vineyards have been planted on the hillsides on the North side of the lake, next to the many apple orchards. I was impressed with the quality of the wines. Here's some that I'll be drinking this summer:

  • Tildio Winery has a great selection of wines and I enjoyed all of them. My favorite was their Tourmalet, a blend of Pinot Noir and Syrah.

  • Balsamroot Winery is named after the wildflower that grows in their vineyard. My favorite was their Chardonnay, which is as unusual as it is good.
Don't look for these in your local wine shop, as their distribution is limited. As we have been promoting for over 12 years, buy wine online.

myWineWeb Enhancements

We've redesigned our myWineWeb service to add more features and to make it easier to use.

Highlights:
  • The first page you see after logging on has a new look to make it easier to find what you want.
  • You can view your order history across all wineries and wine merchants that use WineWeb as their shopping cart.
  • You can view all the user reviews you have written, and easily create new reviews of any winery.
  • The left navigation area of your custom home page has been redesigned for a cleaner look that matches the rest of the site.
myWineWeb is the way to personalize the site to your tastes and interests. A myWineWeb account also allows you to define a wish list of wines you'd like to buy (or have someone buy for you). Sign-up for a myWineWeb account at www.wineweb.com/myWineWebInfo.html

Discover a New Wine

One of the pleasures of buying wine online is discovering a treasure that is not easily, if at all, available in your local wine shops. Here are some places to begin your journey of renewal.
We welcome the following new wineries to The WineWeb:

  • Starlite - You can now order the Zinfandel from Starlite Vineyards online. Merry Edwards is the winemaker.

  • Tuscan StyleMontoliva Vineyard & Winery makes  theire wines in the Italian tradition in Chicago Park, CA.  Check out their Sinistra, a Super Tuscan blend.
