to keep you up-to-date with happenings on the site and to alert you to new wines.
Happy February
Now that the year's end rush has calmed, we can all take a deep breath and settle in to 2007. What an exciting time of year. The last days of February bring the hope of knowing that spring is just around the corner and the last few days of winter are beginning to fade away. Now, as we start to see the early signs of spring, be sure to take the time to relax and savor a glass or two of wine.
Just Launched! Wine Gift Registry and Wish Lists
We are so excited about this new feature and we know that you are too. (We can tell by the sheer volume of its use). The WineWeb can help you and your friends to make gift giving and receiving easy. Whatever the celebration, birthday, anniversary or any occassion. Here's how: Create your wish list of wines in our gift registry service, then email it to everyone who might want to buy you a gift, or simply tell them you posted your wish list on the WineWeb. This is the high-tech way to hint at what you'd enjoy receiving! As you search for wines on the WineWeb, look for the gift box icon to quickly add the wine to your wish list.
You can also search through the gift registry to find gifts for others, then easily add their gift ideas to your shopping cart. Wow! Giving made Easy.
Winery Event Reservations and Ticketing
We've just released our winery event reservations service. Now a winery that has subscribed to our enhanced hosting service can take reservations for their events. This service handles the entire event reservation process, whether the event is a simple recording of names and number of persons to prepaid reservations with generation of online tickets. We've built in availability checking, defined ticket sale times, wine club member discounts, security codes on the tickets, and reporting suitable for attendance control.
WineWeb Gift Certificates Are a Great Gift
Need a Gift? Not sure what to give your favorite wine lover (and they haven't posted their Wish List on the WineWeb)? Our online gift certificates may just be what you're looking for. Our gift certificates can be purchased on The WineWeb, then emailed to the recipient or printed for presentation. The WineWeb gift certificates can be used at any participating winery or wine merchant that uses the WineWeb order processing / shopping cart service, which means there are thousands of wines to choose from. These certificates are perfect for last-minute gifts. And now when purchasing a WineWeb gift certificate online, you can choose your certificate theme to match the occasion. Wine Shopping Tips
One of the pleasures of buying wine online is discovering a treasure that is not easily, if at all, available in your local wine shops. Here are some places to begin your journey of renewal.
We welcome the following new wineries to The WineWeb::
- Partner Wineries - Bettinelli Vineyards and Barclay & Browning, located in Napa Valley These wineries have Veronica Barclay and Mike Browning involved in both of these ventures. They have a Sparkling Viognier that is said to be a most worthy example of their wine creativity. Both these wineries are utilizing the WineWeb's "partner winery" feature, where products from both wineries can be ordered from either winery's e-commerce service. Incredible.
- A proven Winery - Pasek Cellars, a Mount Vernon, WA winery, has been using the WineWeb's e-commerce services for several years to process online orders. Now their entire website is hosted on the WineWeb. Pasek produce's a variety of fruit wines, including their popular Cranberry wine.
- Italian Style - Kuleto Estate in Napa Valley has joined the growing list of wineries to use WineWeb's services to run their website and e-commerce functions. Culinary entrepreneur Pat Kuleto's winery is located in the hills on the Eastern edge of Napa Valley. They are known to make open and opulent wines with an Italian flair.
- Support a New Winery - Kendric Vineyards, a relatively new Shenandoah Valley winery is online with the WineWeb providing their website and e-commerce services. They've just released their first wine, a 2004 Syrah. Congratulations. Check them out today.
Have a pleasurable time with your favorite wine.
