WineWeb newsletter for March, as requested

March 2007

As anticipated, here's another issue of The WineWeb newsletter just for you--
to keep you up-to-date with happenings on the site and to alert you to new wines.

Interactive Maps

We’ve expanded the number of wineries that now appear on our interactive maps. Now in addition to the U.S., you can see (and zoom and pan) wineries plotted on maps of Canada, Australia, and most of Western Europe. So now for example, you can turn on satellite view and gain an appreciation for the terrain in the Loire Valley.

Back to the U.S., follow this link to view over 5,000 wineries plotted on a map: www.wineweb.com/scripts/searchWineMap.cfm/USA/ - it takes a while to load the page, but once there, we know you’ll be exploring for some time (remember, over 1,000 U.S. wineries started business just last year).

New Website Look

We’ve been working on the website design lately. We hope that you’ll find it cleaner and a bit easier to navigate. It’s an ongoing process, so you’ll likely see more changes.

Another Milestone Reached

In addition to the world’s largest online directory of wineries, we now have over 100,000 wines available for sale online, direct from the wineries or wine merchants. Remember that we don’t stock the wine, we provide the technology for you to quickly find and buy wine online.

Share this with a Friend -- They Could Win $100

Anyone who signs up to receive our newsletter is entered into our monthly drawing for a $100 WineWeb gift certificate, so tell your friends. If your friend wins, maybe they'll share some of their wine with you. Just forward this mail or use our "Share with a Friend" link below.

Discover a New Wine

One of the pleasures of buying wine online is discovering a treasure that is not easily, if at all, available in your local wine shops. Here are some places to begin your journey of renewal.
We welcome the following new wineries to The WineWeb:

  • Planning a Wedding in the Northeast? - Zorvino Vineyards, a tuscan style winery in a New Hampshire forest, can handle your wedding or other function, in addition to making and selling wine.

  • Napa Valley Style -  Summers Estate, is a family style winery in Calistoga. Check out their Andriana's Cuvee, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon from three vineyards.
  • Wine of the Stars - Barry Manilow has his own wine label (a growing trend of famous people) and soon you'll be able to buy it online. Check the link in a few days to be the first on your block with some of this wine.

Have a pleasurable time with your favorite wine.
